Meet the University of Limerick's Women in Mathematical Sciences
Encouraging young women into STEM subjects is vitally important, as indicated in SFI's recent barometer survey carried out to establish the Irish public’s attitudes and awareness of STEM in our society. 85% of respondents agreed it is important to encourage more girls to study STEM.
MACSI wants to increase the visibility of female role models in Mathematics and Statistics. With that in mind let’s have few minutes with some of the University of Limerick’s women who work in the mathematical sciences.

Women in Mathematics Day – Ireland
These events have been held in the University of Limerick or NUI Galway in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016.
The aim of these events is to celebrate women across all the mathematical sciences and to provide a networking platform to meet and talk with women who are active and successful in mathematics. The Women in Mathematics Day events are open to everyone who is interested in progressing gender balance across careers within the mathematical sciences regardless of gender, sector or career stage.
