On Friday the 7th of June students on the Terrorism, Crime and Justice summer school at the School of Law were given a tour of Henry Street Garda station by members of An Garda Síochána. As part of the tour the students from the US and Canada heard about community policing, intelligence gathering and the role of An Garda Síochána in Ireland. Students were given demonstrations on how to lift fingerprints and collect DNA and ballistics evidence from a crime scene. Students were also taken through the process an accused faces on being arrested and brought to Henry street station for questioning. Students were accompanied on the tour by Dr Norah Burns who lectures on the summer school. The course is directed by Dr Susan Leahy and Dr Margaret Fitzgerald O'Reilly.
