On Wednesday 1st November LL.M./M.A. Human Rights in Criminal Justice masters students gained a real-life understanding of the prison environment during an educational tour of Limerick Prison organised by Course Director Dr Ger Coffey (member of the Centre for Crime, Justice and Victim Studies in UL).
The educational tour was a unique opportunity for our students which served to remove discussion in seminars from the abstract and facilitated student understanding of policies and practicalities in the sentencing processes. This in turn enabled students to further their understanding of criminal justice and sentencing processes and to bring their knowledge gained in academic seminars to life.
