Student Visit to Garda College
On Wednesday 10th April, students on the LL.M./M.A. Human Rights in Criminal Justice masters programme, accompanied by Course Director Dr Ger Coffey, visited the Garda College in Templemore and gained an invaluable insight into the professional training programme for Garda Trainees.
The tour commenced with a very informative lecture by Sergeant Debra Marsh (LL.M. in Human Rights in Criminal Justice graduate, UL) on the history of policing in Ireland and the development of An Garda Síochána. Students were then given a tour of the College by Sergeant Marsh. The visit was very beneficial for students to experience the Garda College facilities, ethos, professionalism and dedication of training staff.
