Street Law Mock Trial Street Law Mock Trial

On Monday 20 May, 30 transition year students from Coláiste Nano Nagle visited UL with their guidance counsellor and teachers to undertake a mock trial in the A&L Goodbody Appellate Moot Court Room. The mock trial was the final activity in the TY students’ participation in the School of Law’s Street Law Project. As part of the Street Law Project, six law students from UL delivered law classes at the secondary school earlier in the Spring semester. The mock trial subsequently allowed the secondary school students to apply the knowledge and skills they had learned over the course of the project in a practical and realistic manner. Following the mock trial, each of the TY students were presented with a Street Law certificate of participation. Afterwards, Dr Lydia Bracken, who supervised the Street Law project, spoke to the TY students about studying law at University level and outlined the law programmes that are offered at UL.

The UL Street Law Project was run in collaboration with the UL Access Office and was generously supported  by the AHSS Faculty Teaching Board Fund.
