Spring Semester Postgraduate Research Seminars

The School of Law offers an extensive programme of research seminars throughout the academic year designed for graduate research students. Presentations are made by faculty and PhD students on relevant topics and each seminar will last one hour (including presentation followed by Q&A). These seminars are also a meeting place for graduate research students and facilitate the further integration of students into the wider academic and graduate student community.

The spring semester lunchtime seminars, listed below, will take place from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. in room F1-030:

 

  • Week 5, Tuesday 21st February, Essential Academic Skills 1 (including getting published) – Ger Coffey

 

  • Week 6, Tuesday 28th February, Essential Academic Skills 2 (including conference attendance and presentations) – Eimear Spain

 

  • Week 7, Tuesday 7th March, Essential Academic Skills 3 (including teaching and building a teaching portfolio) – Eddie Keane

 

  • Week 8, Tuesday 14th March, Finishing your PhD: the Last Six Months – John Lombard

 

  • Week 9, Tuesday 21st March, Surviving the Viva – Shane Kilcommins and Lydia Bracken – 10:00-11:00 a.m. (note change of time for this seminar)

 

  • Week 10, Tuesday 28th March, 3 Minute Thesis Competition – Ray Friel

          Present your thesis in 3 minutes (and just one slide)
