On Monday 14th November, the School of Law held a seminar on the National Vetting Bureau (Children and Vulnerable Persons) Act 2012. The 2012 Act was commenced in April of this year and now makes it a statutory requirement for all relevant organisations conducting relevant work and activities with children and vulnerable persons to vet employees and volunteers prior to their commencing work. Dr Lydia Bracken, Dr Ger Coffey and Dr John Lombard spoke about the implications of the Act for individuals working and volunteering in Irish Universities. The event was organised by Dr Lydia Bracken.
