In November 2014, Dr Kathryn O’Sullivan, School of Law, visited a number of prestigious law schools across China. In addition to building on the School of Law’s current partnerships with Tianjin Foreign Studies University and the University of Science and Technology Beijing, Dr O’Sullivan also met with new institutions that are currently in the process of developing agreements with the School of Law in the University of Limerick, notably, Hebei University of Technology and Sichuan University, Chengdu.
The trip was a resounding success. Dr O’ Sullivan met with students and staff in each of the universities visited, creating and strengthening undergraduate, postgraduate and faculty links between these highly prominent Chinese institutions and the School of Law, University of Limerick.
During her visit, Dr O’Sullivan attended an Enterprise Ireland Alumni Event in Tianjin, China where she met a number of Chinese former UL graduates, including former students of the School of Law. Indeed, the School of Law welcomes a number of Chinese students each year onto its programmes and supports all of its international students with a range of workshops on legal English and legal research as well as preparatory seminars for law exams.
Dr O’Sullivan was accompanied on her visit to China by Ms Lisa Pan, UL China Manager.
Further information for international students interested in studying in the School of Law is available at http://www.ul.ie/law/prospective/international-students.
