SCHOOL OF LAW LAUNCHES NEW SECURITY INTELLIGENCE PROGRAMME
Launch Description
On Monday, 6 September 2020, the School of Law at the University of Limerick was delighted to welcome thirty senior-ranking members of An Garda Síochána onto the School's newest co-curricular programme- GNCSIS Foundation Principles. The programme was launched by course director, Dr. Alan Cusack (School of Law, University of Limerick) together with Superintendent Ciarán Hoey (GNCSIS) and Detective Inspector Seán Fallon (GNCSIS). Candidates also received a warm welcome address from Assistant Commissioner, Crime & Security Intelligence Service, Orla McPartlin.
Representing the first programme of its kind in Ireland, this new online module is a twelve week full-time course specifically designed to provide course participants with a greater understanding of the nature of the GNCSIS region and how the distinct but interconnected sections within it function both in their individual capacity and collectively to deliver this policing and security service. The programme will be delivered by a team of expert academics.
