The School of Law is delighted to announce that it will be sending a team of law students and law faculty from the University of Limerick to Sichuan University (SCU) in Chengdu, China, for two weeks this summer (4th–19th July) to participate in SCU’s Summer Immersion Programme. This presents a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ opportunity for School of Law students (undergraduate and SCUpostgraduate) to gain an international education experience in a beautiful part of southwest China.

SCU is one of China’s most prestigious ‘211 Project’ universities and was ranked 9th on the Chinese university rankings (Wu Shulian) in 2012. SCU is particularly strong on internationalisation with in excess of 100 established partnerships worldwide. Its exchange partners and international collaborators currently include the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), University of Washington and Purdue University. It also has prestigious and well-developed links with the University of Oxford, Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and University College, London.  Sichuan University is located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, which is known as the "Heavenly State" and is world famous for being home of the Giant Panda.

University of Limerick, School of Law students interested in participating in the 2015 programme and availing of the accompanying SCU and UL School of Law scholarships supporting the cost of attendance, should contact Dr Kathryn O’Sullivan (School of Law) at Kathryn.osullivan@ul.ie on or before Friday, 20th March.
