Roundtable on Consent in Criminal Law
Dr Susan Leahy was invited to present at a roundtable on consent in criminal law in Trinity College Dublin on Saturday October 13th. The other speakers at the event were: Dr Eithne Dowds (Queen’s University Belfast); Dr Tanya Palmer (Sussex University), and; Dr David Prendergast (Trinity College Dublin). The event was hosted and organised by Dr David Prendergast and was attended by staff and students from the School of Law. Susan presented her work on the impact of societal attitudes on adjudications of consent in rape trials, proposing initiatives to support the recent introduction of a definition of consent in Irish sexual offences law.
