Professor Bob Clark - Arthur Cox - IP Cafe 24th March

08.04.2016
IP Cafe - Bob Clark

On March 24, Emeritus Professor Bob Clark from Arthur Cox Solicitors became the 7th speaker in the monthly ICEL IP Law Café at the School of Law in the University of Limerick. Professor Clark gave an exceptionally interesting paper on digital rights in a single European market. This cutting edge of legal development in copyright marks the clash of protecting individual creativity and modern copying technology. Professor Clark’s talk spanned the globe, comparing different approaches in the United States and the most recent policy and regulatory statements from the European Union. Going forward Professor Clark highlighted some of the more challenging areas that will be faced by those in the industry as a result of recent EU thinking and the limited scope for Ireland to respond unilaterally. A very well-attended event, participants as usual ranged from legal practitioners to business people.

The next IP Law Café will feature Susan Richey, Deputy Chief Judge at the US Trademark Trial and Appeal Board who will talk about Brand Valuation.
