The School of Law is delighted to announce that Nada Balto was awarded her Ph.D. today, with no corrections.
The title of her thesis is 'The constitutional feasibility of codifying sharia discretion in relation to punishments in Saudi Arabia'.
Her examiners were Dr Fatih Ozturk, an expert on Comparative Constitutionalism, Religious Freedom, Federalism and Islamic Law in Turkey, and Dr Ger Coffey as the internal examiner. Professor Ray Friel acted as chair. Her primary supervisor was Dr Kathryn O’Sullivan and Prof Shane Kilcommins was the secondary supervisor. Dr Balto works as a lecturer in Constitutional Law at the King AbdulAziz University in Jedda, Saudia Arabia.
