ICEL and the School of Law were delighted to have Mr Justice David Barniville give a fascinating talk on the increasing commercialisation of the Irish Commercial Court.
Mr Justice Barniville, who is also an Adjunct Professor at the School of Law, traced the evolution of the Commercial Court, the internationalisation of cases and how the Commercial Court defines ‘commercial’ in order for a case to go before it. Mr Justice Barniville finished his talk by looking at future developments including an intellectual property court for Ireland.
The talk was chaired by Eddie Keane and convened by Dr Laura Donnellan. Thank you to Ruhi Anand, a PhD student in the School of Law who helped with registrations.
