On Wednesday, 11th May, Dr Kathryn O’Sullivan of the School of Law, University of Limerick delivered a guest lecture on Legal English to 31 senior police officers currently undertaking a CEPOL European Police College course in Ireland entitled Language Development: Instruments and Systems of European Police Cooperation (English). Dr O’Sullivan was invited to present to the participating officers who come from over 20 different EU member states and accession countries, and are, or will be, involved in cross border work or international police co-operation in either operational or educational arenas.
CEPOL European Police College is an EU agency dedicated to providing training and learning opportunities to law enforcement officers on issues vital to the security of the European Union and its citizens. Activities are designed to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and best practices and to contribute to the development of a common European law enforcement culture.
