The School of Law was delighted that two of our Law and Accounting students, Mairead Burke and Kate Screene, were part of the Ashbourne camogie squad which made history for UL, on Sunday, in winning the coveted Ashbourne Cup for the 5th successive year defeating UCC 3-14 to 0-12.
Mairead is from Eyrecourt, and Kate is from Skehana/Menlough. This is a huge achievement in a highly competitive sport with most third level teams packed with talented intercountry players.
Their 5th success in a row means that they were one of the most outstanding teams to ever play in the Ashbourne Cup since its inception in 1915.
