Hope Davidson - AHSS Fee Waiver

Hope Davidson

Hope Davidson, a doctoral student of the School of Law, has been awarded a Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Fee Waiver (AHSS, for twelve months).

Hope has a BA in History (TCD) and a Masters in Health and Care Law (UCC). She practiced as a solicitor and qualified as a mediator before arriving at the School. She has also tutored for the School, the Nursing and Midwifery Faculty, and for the Law Society of Ireland. Hope was already in receipt of a School research scholarship, has received AHSS postgraduate conference funding, and was awarded 'Best Paper' at the AHSS Postgraduate Conference earlier this year.

Hope’s research focuses on 'Decision-making in dementia care: autonomy, capacity and the doctrine of informed consent.' Her other research interests include human rights, medical ethics, mental health law, and alternative dispute resolution.
