On March 24th, a group of final year Law Plus students presented their research on ‘Media Reporting on Rape Trials’ to Mary Crilly and Ellie O’Mahony from Sexual Violence Centre Cork (SVCC). SVCC run the #FixedIt-Ireland initiative which proposes changes to Irish newspaper headlines on sexual violence and have advised students on their research over the course of their project.

The students are completing this research as part of an Advanced Lawyering project under the supervision of Dr Susan Leahy. The students in this group are: Scion Flanagan, Sarah White, Isabel Shier, Darragh O’Grady, Laura O’Callaghan and Eoghan O’Neill.

The School of Law would like to thank Sexual Violence Centre Cork for supporting the students’ work this semester.
