Dr. John Lombard presented a paper at the 5th Conference of the European Association of Health Law (EAHL) on Friday, 2nd October 2015. The conference was held in the
Institute of Molecular Genetics in Prague, Czech Republic. The title of the conference was ‘Health Law and Cross Border Health Care in Europe’. John spoke on the topic of ‘The legal framework for palliative sedation: A comparison of French, Dutch, and UK approaches to end-of-life care’. This paper considered recent developments such as the French Bill on the administration of palliative sedation and the Access to Palliative Care Bill which is currently before Parliament in England.
