Dr Susan Leahy posted a piece on the General Scheme of the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences) Bill on Human Rights in Ireland. Dr Leahy concludes: "There is no doubt that the Bill is an important development and will increase protection for victims of sexual violence. However, now that sexual offences have made their way onto the legislative agenda, it is important that the resultant legislation be as comprehensive as possible. The current Bill is a step in the right direction but more is needed if we are to honestly say that we have thoroughly and seriously reviewed the law in this area".
