Criminal Injuries Compensation Tribunal
On Thursday 17th June 2021, Dr Ger Coffey participated in a webinar on the ‘Criminal Injuries Compensation Tribunal: Experiences and Challenges’ hosted by the Victims’ Rights Alliance. Dr Coffey spoke on the limitations and challenges of the Tribunal from a legal analysis perspective.
The webinar was part of a series of monthly webinars focusing on issues relevant to victims of crime, which consisted of a presentation by Dr Coffey as an independent person followed by presentations from a membership organisation focusing on the experience of their clients on the ground, in this case the Criminal Injuries Compensation Tribunal. Other speakers at the event were representatives from AdVic, an NGO that supports family members of homicide victims. The presentations were followed by a short Q&A session.
