The Centre for Criminal Justice held an International Conference on 21st and 22nd May 2015, ‘On the Road towards a EU criminal justice system: problems, achievements and prospects.’Centre for Criminal Justick Conference

Presentations over the two days of the conference featured the leading international experts in EU criminal justice, as well as the Director for Public Prosecutions, Claire Loftus, The Hon. Mr Justice John Edwards and Mr Remy Farrell SC; Irish delegates included a number of senior prosecutors from the DPP’s office, the director of research at the Law Reform Commission, and a number of practitioners. In addition to Irish delegates, a large percentage came from UK and Continental Europe, with established academics and Doctoral candidates arriving from Poland, Luxembourg, Italy, the Netherlands and Greece. The National Member for Ireland at Eurojust also attended the full conference as well as other high-ranking officials in the field.

Our visitors were most impressed with the Campus, and also enjoyed the social activities that were included as part of the conference programme, a classical recital and a traditional Irish session, all performed by former and current students of the IWMA.
