CCJVS Seminar: Reflections on Rape Trials in Ireland and Northern Ireland: Achieving Best Practice'

The CCJVS hosted a seminar on rape trials for local criminal justice stakeholders and students on May 2nd 2019. Speakers included Dr Eithnre Dowds (Queen's University Belfast), Ms Caroline Counihan BL (Rape Crisis Network of Ireland) and Dr Susan Leahy (UL) who discussed their respective research on reform of the laws and procedures relating to rape trials in Ireland and Northern Ireland. The seminar was chaired by Ms Miriam Duffy (Rape Crisis Midwest) and was organised by Dr Susan Leahy. The seminar was funded by the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Faculty Research Board.
