Appointment to Gaisce Council
Dr Lydia Bracken, School of Law, has been appointed by the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs to the Board of the Gaisce Council. Gaisce – The President’s Award is a self-development programme for young people aged 15-25. It encourages participants to dream big and realise their potential. There are three levels of award—bronze, silver and gold—and four challenge areas: community involvement, personal skill, physical recreation, and an adventure journey. Uachtaráin na hEireann, Michael D. Higgins, is patron of the Award. Dr Bracken’s appointment is for a period of three years.
