The Technology Enhanced Learning Unit (TELU) is a joint collaboration between the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) the Information Technology Division (ITD), Continuous Professional Education (CPE) and the Library and Information Services Division (LISD). The TELU aims to provide a coordinated and coherent approach to TEL and blended learning as described in UL’s Teaching, Learning & Assessment Strategy (Engaged Learning) and in its Strategic Plan (Broadening Horizons).
CPE is committed to growing the number of flexible, on-line and blended learning students studying at UL. The TELU plays a key role in achieving this growth by recognising and mobilising the existing e-learning capability at UL; supporting staff in developing new on-line material and in adapting existing material and pedagogies for on-line and blended delivery; and providing expert advice on engaging with on-line learners. Many of our existing CPE programmes are successfully exploiting e-learning technologies to access students who cannot attend our physical campus. Extending these programmes will position CPE as a lead-user of the TELU’s expertise. (Dr Ann Ledwith)
